English Enrichment – 7th Grade
Dates: July 28 – August 1, 2025
Price: $500/week
This program is taught by Sanford Middle School teacher, Chris Keiser. This course is your ticket to mastering the skills that will set you up for success in seventh-grade English! Students will engage in a week of activities and assignments balanced around fifty percent reading and discussion skills and fifty percent creative and argumentative writing skills. Reading assignments will be a blend of choice read and teacher assigned short stories, articles and poems that cover a variety of genres: fiction, non-fiction, drama, and folklore. Students will explore what happens in these texts, how we can glean meaning from them, and their personal connections to the narratives. Our writing activities will be centered around a composition journal, where students will keep all of their major and minor writing assignments, from creative writing exercises to longer prompted responses.
This program runs from 9am – 12pm. Children will then eat lunch and join their group in ESF’s
Senior Camp: Upper Division for remainder of the afternoon. Pickup is at 3pm.

We will utilize the beautiful Sanford campus to inspire our budding artists and readers! The week will include different crafts, dramatic play, writing, storytelling, and more. This program is taught by Sanford Middle School teacher, Alessandra Vadala. What is better than a good book? How about a good book paired with a tasty snack? Cooking with Books is a fun week-long class that will allow students to enjoy a children's book as well as learn to cook a related snack. Students will go home each day with a dish they prepared themselves. While the food is cooking, they will play games, create an art project, and put together their very own recipe book. This program runs from 9am - 12pm. Children will then eat lunch and join their Bunk in ESF's Junior Camp: Intermediate Division for remainder of the afternoon. Get your creative juices flowing with fun writing exercises and thought-provoking prompts in your composition journal. Master the art of paragraph writing, setting the stage for stellar essay writing in eighth grade. This course is your ticket to developing essential skills for a successful journey through eighth-grade English. This program runs from 9am - 12pm. Dates: July 7-18, 2025 Price: $250/week
This summer health course, taught by Sanford Upper School teacher Alaina Schumann, focuses on wellness and the concept of health as a continuum. Throughout the program, students will explore various topics, including the history of diseases, communicable and chronic illnesses, mental health, and other current health issues. Sanford students are required to attend all classes to receive school credit. Please note: Students who attend Health Session I do not need attend Health Session II. Please note: This class (Health Session I) requires a 2-week minimum commitment, for the weeks of July 7-11 and July 14-18. The tuition listed below is the weekly rate, not the 2-week rate.I Am Independent

This program is taught by Sanford Lower School teacher, Sophia Pollinger. Responsibility leads to independence which leads to confidence! For children to become independent in common home and school tasks, they need to be given opportunities to practice. This enrichment program will expose 4 and 5-year-olds to jobs that can be done at home to build personal confidence for when they come into the classroom. Students will learn through stories, crafts, and various hands-on activities that will build a home and school connection. Along with activities that will build their independence physically, they will also work through social stories and group games to practice regulating specific emotions on their own. This program runs from 9am - 12pm. Children will then eat lunch and join their Bunk in ESF's Junior Camp: Mini Division for remainder of the afternoon. Pickup is at 3pm.Math Enrichment – Grade 6

This program will focus on whole number operations, place value, basic fact recall, manipulating decimals and fractions, developing good number sense, and problem-solving. Get ready to have fun while strengthening your math skills! This program runs from 9am - 12pm. This program is taught by Sanford Middle School teacher, Sophie Weber. Games and daily challenges will make this program a winner for all who attend. This program will focus on the order of operations, fractions and decimals, calculating probability and percent, and obtaining a deeper knowledge of algebraic expressions. Students will dive right into problem-solving techniques to explore all that math has to offer. Get ready to have fun while strengthening your math skills! *This class is intended for incoming 7th and 8th graders who are getting ready to take or who have just completed Pre-Algebra. Students enrolled in this course have NOT completed Algebra I. This program runs from 9am - 12pm.
